Hello Beautiful Table! We are really big on the edible centerpiece (remember THIS one?). Here are some reasons why we love it so much:
BREAK OUT YOUR FAVORITE CHINA:
This is an opportunity for your china to shine bright! Here we used Archive Rentals to give us a cool colored contrast to our warm food color palate, which works to bring a balance to both. In the same way, the feminine edges of the dinner plates soften up the roughness of the food platters. China really gets to stand out, rather then blend in, on a table like this.
REDUCING WASTE:
We are always looking for ways to reduce waste, and as much as we love big clusters of flowers as centerpieces on tables, once guests depart, they typically get tossed to make their way to the landfill. Why not use food as a centerpiece? Sure we use flowers here to add whimsy, but these flowers are edible and water wise.
SEASONAL IS OUR COLOR PALETTE:
Let nature conduct your color palette! When shopping at the farmer’s market, you will find produce at it’s peak level of flavor and color. For this fall table, there is a lot of pumpkin, beans and heirloom tomatoes so orange and green dominates to color here.
LITTLE BOWLS MAKE CONVERSATIONS:
Little bowls can be filled with sauces or dips, depending on your menu. Here we included guacamole and a Sunchoke + Parsnip Hummus, which is a great base for bruschetta. Guests who may not know each other will inevitably ask each other about the variety of the dishes placed around them.
YES, EVERYTHING HERE IS VEGAN!
But it doesn’t have to be. Most of the guests did not eat meat or dairy so we put together a lot of beans, grains and rice under those vegetables. There was also bread on the table, but slices of chicken or skirt steak could have easily been slipped in. Or! This edible centerpiece could be made up of appetizers only like THIS one. The canvas is limitless.
