O lá lá, our Crostini Station as an edible centerpiece! Flower arrangements are so beautiful, but at the end of an event, they get discarded. Also, everyone has seen beautiful flower arrangements, what about an edible arrangement? Here we put together a vegetarian feast in the center of the table, and dinner hasn’t even been served yet!
An edible centerpiece can take the place of appetizers, as guests sit and talk over little farmer’s market gems. What a great way to start conversations!
We carefully select all of our ingredients from small farmers using beyond organic practices. They are growing heirloom varieties for their flavor rather than for their shelf life. Sourcing this way also ensures that there are always vibrant colors on our plates and platters that are seriously eye-popping and unusual.
Our cheeses are all from small, artisanal domestic producers. We look for pasture-raised, grass-fed dairies where the animals are treated very humanely like Drake Farms who provides us with much of our goat cheese.
Our chef Matt trains our kitchen to approach these boards as if they actually were a floral arrangement. All elements are edible, including the flowers, most of which are grown in our own kitchen garden.
A variety of breads provide height and accompaniments for the cheeses and jams.
Roasted vegetables, candied and spiced nuts, and house-made pickles help make up the mosaic of these platters. There’s truly something for everyone here.
Each tip has a rustic flow that contrasts so pretty with the delicate garnish, which here is fresh green garbanzo beans.
Vintage is intermixed with new for the place settings by Casa de Perrin, which truly blows this table into a different stratosphere of gorgeous. I love how the blue intermingles with all the colors of the Crostini Station. It was all absolutely breathtaking in person.
